Step One - Repentance and The Prayer of Salvation:
"Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I
am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please
forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died
for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus
to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please
send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In
Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
Step Two - Be Sure of Your Salvation:
Maybe you don’t “feel” any different after praying the Prayer of
Salvation, that’s ok. It’s not about a feeling, it’s about knowing. How can you know your
saved? Because God’s Word says so!
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting
life.” John 3:16
Step Three - Tell Someone About Your Decision:
Tell a Christian friend or your church about your decision to except Jesus Christ as your
Lord and Savior. Why? Because Jesus tells us too:
“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my
Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also
deny before my Father which is in heaven.” Matt 10:32-33
You will also need to get Baptized. Talk with your pastor about how
to go about this.
Step Four - Share Your Faith:
Jesus commands us to share our faith with others.
Step Five - Study Your Bible:
You should read at least one chapter from your bible each day. It’s a good idea to start
in the Book of John.
Step Six - Pray:
Now that you have a relationship with God through His Son Jesus, you need to talk with
Him daily. Make it a habit to talk with God every day about
everything in your life.
Step Seven - Attend the Church of Your Choice!
Your church is where you will worship God and fellowship with other believers. It’s at your
church where you can actively get involved in God’s Word with others. Prayerfully
consider your choice of church.
